This limited edition release can be found in select bars and restaurants in New York City, Buffalo, and Rochester, as well as the brewery tasting room in Middlebury, Vermont and a select few Vermont restuarants.
Wolaver's All-American Ale is 100% certified organic, and brewed only with ingredients sourced here in the USA. If you have followed the hop news lately, you already know that hops are in short supply, and organic hops in particular. Most organically grown hops are imported from Europe and New Zealand.
Since we began in 1997, Wolaver's has worked with hop farmers to grow certified organic hops. The strong demand in recent years for organic beers has helped our efforts. We visited several hops growers last year and our efforts have paid off, in the form of several acres of organically grown Fuggles, Goldings, and Magnum hops of outstanding quality. The first harvest is the inspiration for the new All-American Organic ale.
Our mission, along with brewing great tasting beer, is to source as many ingredients as possible from small, domestic organic farms. We are very excited to be working with American farmers and we're hoping that this success will lead to the availability of more domestically grown organic hop varieties!
The new beer incorporates the organic Fuggles and Goldings hops with organic malts and the brewery's house yeast for a smooth and delicious ale. The beer has a pleasant balance of pale and roasted malts and noble hop aroma. This limited edition brew is available on draft, or in growlers directly from the brewery. |
